About the gardener...

I am passionate about the learning! I love incorporating ICLTs into the curriculum as well as being active outdoors with children. I have been a teacher for about 15 years, with experiences in both state and independent sectors. I am currently teaching in a Catholic primary school, in the western suburbs of Brisbane, Qld, Australia. This semester, I have been fortunate enough to have a job share role in the library as a teacher- librarian with the provision to increase to more days in the library in the future. My job share teaching partner is a very knowledgeable teacher-librarian with over 40 years teaching experience, and most of that time has been in this library space. Other days I work in relief at the school which has enabled me to get to know many different students and be exposed to different teaching styles and classroom routines. My goal is to work on developing more collaborative partnerships across the school to enable inquiry based learning models in the library that links with current classroom activities.

I enjoy teaching a variety of subjects, but my passion is integrating ICLTs into the curriculum, in order to allow our students to be collaborative, creative and caring citizens. I am no gardener, but I hope to provide students with a good grounding, so they can flourish and blossom into all they can be and more!
